Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Reunite to Serve Thanksgiving Meals in Rare Photo

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are coming together for a good cause.

The former couple reunited Nov. 28 in Los Angeles to help serve Thanksgiving meals to those in need in the city’s Skid Row neighborhood.

In a photo shared on social media by The Midnight Mission—an organization that works to help homeless individuals and families in Southern California—the pair donned matching aprons as they smiled for a photo with the charity’s CEO David Prentice.

“Today, we were honored to have Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner join us at The Midnight Mission for Thanksgiving,” the Instagram post read. “Their kindness, warmth, and dedication brought so much joy to our Skid Row community.”

While the ex-spouses, who were married from 2005 to 2015, have both gone on to new relationships—Jen has been dating businessman John Miller since 2018, while Ben is in the midst of a divorce from current wife Jennifer Lopez—they’ve stayed on friendly terms for their kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

“When you have children with somebody, you’re connected to them forever,” Ben said of his ex to People in 2020. “And I’m very lucky she is the mother of my children.”

And as for giving back, the 13 Going on 30 star sees it as a way of leading by example for her family.

“I think teaching your kids anything is a lifelong job and certainly values are something,” Jen told E! News in 2016. “You can’t just say, ‘Here, have values!’ You have to show them that you have values.”

“When they're older, they'll hopefully travel with us and go to places and be boots on the ground,” she continued, “but for right now, it's just really important to both of us that they see and appreciate the work we do.”
